ELECTIONS

21 out of the 66 Sefton Councillors represent the 7 electoral wards in Southport. Each of these Wards has three elected Councillors who represent on average 9,500 electors. Each Councillor is elected to a four year term of office.
A third of councillors are elected at each annual election, with no borough election being held in the fourth year. Whenever a vacancy occurs, a by-election is called unless it is too close to a scheduled election.

The next elections are due to be held on Thursday, 3rd May 2011,
the next elections are likely to be in May 2013.

This party is hoping to put forwards a number of candidates in 2012.
